Church Anniversary

Pastors Dave & Tomana started Southgate Church 23 years ago. The Lord has used Southgate in some incredible ways. Southgate has served thousands of meals to the homeless, planted 2 churches, baptized hundreds of people, and more. Southgate has been “home” to many families and has a special place in the hearts of the people of Langley.

Join us as we celebrate our 23nd anniversary as a church! Pastor Eric Knox  will be bringing the word and ministering to us at our events.

Eric grew up in Inglewood, CA and moved to Oregon on a basketball scholarship to
Oregon State University. After college he put down roots in Portland, OR. While in
Portland, he founded an organization in the 1990’s called Urban Progress. Urban
Progress was featured in the Skanner, which is the oldest owned black newspaper
company in Portland, OR runner-up recipient to the prestigious “Drum Major for
Justice” award handed out to those making a difference in marginalized neighborhoods.
He then went on to found his current organization “HOLLA,” which is a culturally
responsive mentoring organization focused on mentorship for black and brown kids.
In addition, Eric received his bachelor’s degree from Oregon State University and
Masters of Divinity in pastoral care from Western Seminary and planted several
churches in Portland, OR (The Well) and Los Angeles, CA (Sojourn Village). He recently
was the campus pastor at Imago Dei Community Eastside but left just recently to be the
full-time Executive Director of HOLLA. He has been married to his junior high and high
school sweet heart for 23 years and has 3 beautiful children.
